Eric Dane’s posthumously released memoir describes a tense moment with Josh Duhamel while the two actors were filming NBC’s Las Vegas. Dane, who guest-starred during the show’s second season, says he had a herniated disc in his neck and asked Duhamel to avoid pulling his tie during their fight scene.

In My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, Dane writes that Duhamel pulled the tie during the first take, causing sharp pain. After Duhamel apologized, Dane says the same thing happened on the next take. Dane then asked a producer to rein in Duhamel, who reportedly said he had become caught up in the moment.

Dane recounts that Duhamel grabbed his tie again on the third take. He says he took off his suit jacket, raised his fists and moved toward Duhamel, while the cameras continued recording. Dane later acknowledged that the footage could make him appear to have started the fight.

The memoir also says the actors saw each other after the incident and were on good terms. Dane wrote that he had been wrong to confront Duhamel and apologized, according to the account reported by Entertainment Weekly. The book is available to buy.
