Dua Lipa has selected Zadie Smith’s “White Teeth” as the November 2026 pick for the Service95 Book Club, describing the novel as a lively and perceptive portrait of multicultural London.
Smith’s debut novel follows the Iqbal and Jones families across the 20th century. Service95 characterizes it as an intergenerational story exploring identity, community, language, and the competing influences of nature and nurture. Goodreads lists the book with a rating of 3.8 out of five stars.
Lipa called “White Teeth” a “big, loud, boisterous and fiercely clever book” and praised Smith’s treatment of the many voices heard on London’s streets. She also described the novel as a literary landmark for a generation.
The Service95 Book Club launched in June 2023 as part of Lipa’s wider editorial platform, which also includes the Service95 website, a weekly newsletter, and the podcast “Dua Lipa: At Your Service.” Its selections span fiction, memoir, essays, manifestos, classics, and newer literary voices.
For each selection, Lipa facilitates a virtual conversation with the author. Service95 also provides reading guides, playlists, and recommendations connected with the featured books.
The 2026 list has included Kazuo Ishiguro’s “Klara and the Sun” in October, Kaveh Akbar’s “Martyr!” in September, Madeline Cash’s “Lost Lambs” in August, and Lea Ypi’s memoir “Free” in July. Earlier selections included Kae Tempest’s June pick, Claire Keegan’s “So Late in the Day,” Jez Butterworth’s play “Jerusalem,” Roxane Gay’s “Bad Feminist,” Jean-Baptiste Del Amo’s “The Son of Man,” and Mark Ronson’s “Night People.”
