The Detroit Lions said linebacker Jack Campbell is resting and will remain in a local hospital overnight for continued evaluation and monitoring after suffering a frightening injury during Sunday’s 19-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

“Jack Campbell is resting and will remain in a local hospital tonight, for continued evaluation and monitoring,” the team said in a statement shared through its official X account on November 1. The Lions added that they would provide further updates when available.

Campbell, 26, appeared unable to move after tackling Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson. Detroit’s athletic training staff attended to him before he was carefully placed on a backboard and taken from Ford Field on a cart.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after the game that the organization had no additional information at the time. He expressed support for the linebacker and his family, saying the team would continue to share updates about his condition.

The incident visibly affected players and coaches from both teams. Many took a knee while Campbell was being removed from the field, while others appeared emotional before play resumed. Sideline reporter Erin Andrews also described Campbell’s importance to the Lions’ defense during the broadcast.
