Diego Pasillas reacted with humor after falling during the opening number of Dancing with the Stars’ Disney Night. In an Instagram video posted Monday, November 2, he joked, “You guys, I just ate it on national television,” as he shared a clip of the mishap.

The Newsies-inspired routine showed Pasillas losing his footing as he ran into the ballroom and landing on the floor with one leg in the air. He got back up quickly, leading some viewers to wonder whether the fall was part of the choreography. A backstage clip showed how the moment was meant to look, and Pasillas laughed about the mistake in his caption: “LOLLLL the show must go on.”

Pasillas also reposted a supportive message praising his recovery and describing the moment as a learning opportunity for young dancers. He responded that the message meant a great deal to him.

The opening medley celebrated Disney on Broadway, with performances inspired by Newsies, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and The Greatest Showman. Guest judge Cynthia Erivo joined Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough and Carrie Ann Inaba as eight couples competed.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson earned their second perfect score of the season, while Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also finished at the top of the leaderboard. The contestants later competed in teams with cohosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, with those results added to their individual scores.

Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa were eliminated. They scored 33 out of 40 for their paso doble to “Satisfied” from Hamilton, with Stiles dealing with an injury during rehearsals. After the show, she told Good Morning America that the competition had taught her a great deal physically, mentally and emotionally. Sosa praised her ability to be present and said he had never enjoyed teaching someone more.

Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
