Christina Applegate said she is experiencing an identity crisis after learning she does not have multiple sclerosis, a diagnosis she believed for five years. Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, MeSsy, she described feeling frustrated and said she is still undergoing tests to find out what is causing her symptoms.

The conversation came during an episode featuring Jack Osbourne, who said he sometimes feels like a fraud at MS-related events because he sees people living with the disease who are in worse health or having a harder time. Applegate responded that her own situation made her feel like a fraud because she no longer has the diagnosis.

Co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Osbourne reassured Applegate that she remains an honorary member of the MS community. Applegate said she has found it difficult to shed an identity she had held for so long and believes she has significant work ahead to change how she sees herself.

She added that learning she was misdiagnosed has not put her back at square one. Applegate said she is being tested for conditions related to MS and remains frustrated as she searches for an explanation.
