Chris Harrison said he took time before introducing his children to Lauren Zima, his now-wife. Speaking on the November 4 episode of the “Unplanned” podcast, the former “Bachelor” host said he first asked his children whether they wanted to meet someone he was dating.
Harrison recalled that his children told him they did not want to meet everyone he dated, but would welcome someone who became important to him. They also said they did not want to find out about a wedding without having met that person first.
Harrison has two children with his ex-wife, Gwen Harrison: son Joshua, 25, and daughter Taylor, 18. He said he introduced them to Zima, a former television journalist, when he felt their relationship had become important and that keeping it from his children would feel like hiding it. Zima then began attending their lacrosse games and recitals and joining family dinners, he said.
Harrison said his children were in high school when they met Zima. He described falling in love with her quickly, adding that he felt differently about her than he had about previous relationships. The couple married in 2023.
On the podcast, Harrison also praised the communication he and Zima have built as parents. He said his advice to parents is to love their children and be present.
