Bret Baier clarified a hot-mic comment heard during Fox News’ coverage of the 2026 midterm elections after a clip of the moment spread online. The exchange took place while the network was airing commentary on Michigan’s Senate race, which was won by Democratic candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed.
Baier, who was off camera, could be heard saying, “Okay, can we do a spin on the races that…” He later addressed the clip on X, explaining that he was speaking to Bill Hemmer and meant a review of the races still awaiting results.
Baier has been with Fox News since 1998. He anchors the network’s nightly program, Special Report, and hosts a biweekly political podcast.
