Bo Bice has unveiled a shorter hairstyle as he prepares to return to music with a new album. The former American Idol finalist shared a before-and-after comparison on Instagram, contrasting his long hair from the show with a short, spiky cut, necklaces and a patterned shirt.

Bice described the change as part of a “new life, new style,” while saying he still has the same Southern soul. He also pointed fans toward his next musical chapter: his website lists an album titled Resurrected as in development for 2027. No release date or track list has been announced. His most recent release was Born of Heroes’ Blood in 2024.

Bice finished as Carrie Underwood’s runner-up on American Idol’s fourth season in 2005. He had already spent years singing and touring with bands before auditioning with the Allman Brothers Band song “Whipping Post.” That same year, he released The Real Thing, which went gold.

The shorter haircut is not entirely new. In an Instagram post in April, Bice discussed broader lifestyle changes and said he had lost 89 pounds, adding that the change helped him move around onstage and feel sharper and stronger.
