Ben Wang could be joining another major franchise. The 29-year-old actor, who is set to play District 12’s Wyatt Callow in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, is reportedly in talks to portray Iceman in the upcoming X-Men movie, according to Deadline.
Iceman’s real name is Bobby Drake. The mutant is one of the original founding members of the X-Men and can manipulate ice, freeze objects, lower temperatures and transform his body into ice. Shawn Ashmore previously played the character.
The reported cast also includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister, Maya Boyd as Storm, Asa Germann as Angel and Inde Navarrette as Rogue.
The film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028. Jake Schreier, who previously directed Thunderbolts, is attached to direct.
