Ashley Darby says a heated argument with former ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ co-star Candiace Dillard Bassett was left out of ‘The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.’ Darby described the clash in a new interview with Page Six’s ‘Virtual Reali-Tea,’ saying it happened while the season was being filmed in Atlanta.
Darby said the disagreement came from unresolved tensions between them. She recalled jumping around and clapping during the exchange, and described it as a return to their past dynamic as co-stars.
The argument eventually eased. Darby said Dillard Bassett showed her pictures of her two-year-old son, Jett, and the two began talking normally. Darby added that they can have moments of closeness while still wondering how the other is really doing, and said she sometimes misses her former co-star.
Dillard Bassett announced in March 2024 that she was taking a break from ‘RHOP’ after six seasons, citing new responsibilities. Darby said she and her castmates had often been asked about Dillard Bassett’s departure, and welcomed comments from executive producer Andy Cohen after he addressed the subject at Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston.
Darby’s account follows another reported clash that did not make the final cut of the ‘RHUGT’ season. Dolores Catania previously said that Erin Lichy and Dorinda Medley had an argument while filming the finale at Medley’s Bluestone Manor; Lichy later said the two had made up soon afterward.
