Marshals is signaling a change in the relationship between Kayce and Andrea. In the Sunday, November 1, episode, Andrea, played by Ash Santos, visited Kayce’s home after work and opened up about her PTSD. She later fell asleep on his couch while he watched over her.
Santos said the series is now including clearer hints about the chemistry between the characters. She explained that the experiences they share are prompting both of them to reconsider their feelings for each other.
According to Santos, Andrea and Kayce’s connection becomes even stronger in the second season. Andrea increasingly trusts Kayce with information about what she is discovering about her father because she believes he is the only person who can understand her experience, having gone through something similar with John Dutton.
Kayce will also accompany Andrea on an upcoming trip to New York. Santos described his decision to go with her and support her as an important part of their friendship, allowing Andrea to rely on him.
Santos also teased a scene from the end of episode 15, filmed at night near the water with the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. She said the setting was visually striking and suggested that viewers would enjoy the moment.
The actress praised Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce, calling him a genuine and emotionally open scene partner. She added that their shared experiences as parents and their relationships outside the show help make the scenes between Kayce and Andrea feel honest.
Marshals airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and streams the following day on Paramount+.
