Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ former spouses, Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig, have married, according to People and the Daily Mail. The wedding took place on Nov. 1, six weeks after Robach and Holmes tied the knot.
Shue, known for Melrose Place, revealed in October that he had proposed to Fiebig earlier in the year. Reflecting on their relationship, he told People, “I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending.”
The couples’ story began in the public eye in 2022, when Robach and Holmes’ romance was revealed while both were still legally married. The former GMA3 cohosts said they had already separated from their respective partners and denied that they had been unfaithful. Their time on GMA3 ended shortly after the relationship became public.
Robach and Holmes became engaged in 2025 and married in September. Shue and Fiebig began dating in 2023, and Shue said he proposed in the spring before their November wedding.
Their story is not the only example of former partners later finding love with someone connected to their exes. Shania Twain married Frédéric Thiébaud after both had gone through breakups involving their former spouses. Twain separated from Robert John “Mutt” Lange in 2008 after alleging that he had an affair with her close friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud. Frédéric was Marie-Anne’s husband.
After their respective relationships ended, Twain and Frédéric grew closer and began dating in 2009. They married on New Year’s Day in 2011. Twain later described their story as “twisted” but “so beautifully twisted.” In 2024, she said that Lange and Marie-Anne were still together, while also praising Frédéric as “the greatest man on the planet.” Lange and Marie-Anne denied the affair allegations at the time.
A similarly unconventional relationship involved former New York Yankees pitchers Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich. The teammates became friends after joining the Yankees, but by 1972 they had formed relationships with each other’s wives: Peterson with Susanne and Kekich with Marilyn.
Kekich rejected the description of the situation as wife-swapping, saying they had “swapped lives.” His relationship with Marilyn eventually ended, while Peterson and Susanne married in 1974 and remained together until his death in 2023. Peterson described their relationship as a love story and said it was not “anything dirty.”
